Wu Pingchuan Leads Delegation to the 2025 World Chinese Language Conference

        The 2025 World Chinese Language Conference opened on November 14 at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. Huai Jinpeng, Minister of Educationpresided over the event. Wu Pingchuan, Chair of University Council (Hefei University), was invited to attend the opening ceremony and the plenary session.

Organized by the Ministry of Education and co-hosted by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, the Chinese International Education Foundation, and the International Society for Chinese Language Teaching, the Conference was held under the theme “Innovation Leads, AI Empowers: Learning Chinese Without Borders”.

During the Conference, Wu held meetings with officials from the Department of Language Information Management and the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education, and met with German representatives from the Confucius Institute at Stralsund University of Applied Sciences, which HFU jointly established. Ministry officials commended HFUs school running orientation of localization, application, and internationalization, its practical achievements in Sino-German cooperation, and its contributions to international Chinese language education. They encouraged HFU to continue exploring innovative cooperation models and build new benchmarks in Chinese language promotion and Sino-foreign educational collaboration.

German representatives noted that, guided by the Conference theme and marking the Institutes upcoming 10th anniversary, they will continue to strengthen Chinese language teaching and cultural exchange in Germany, deepen AI-supported instructional practices, and work to develop the Confucius Institute into a model institution in the country.

Building on the momentum of the Conference, HFU will further advance the integration of international Chinese education and disciplinary education, expand the scope and depth of Sino-foreign cooperative programs, and contribute more to global Chinese language education and cross-cultural understanding.
